In 2019, Portland voters approved the Portland Public Schools (PPS) property tax levy to support PPS schools for five years. This renewed tax will provide funding — though not enough to resolve the $30 million budget shortfall — to support approximately 660 teachers and classroom support staff annually over the next five years.
What it will do for our communities:
In support of our families and students, this continued tax would fund teachers and their classrooms, increasing teacher availability and other, non-classroom resources that communities rely on.
